Not much of a gamer but I like to dip my toe in every now and then. Got a lovely 27" iMac for turning 30 from the wife and thought I'd put the lovely 2560x1440 screen through its paces.
So I ran a Bootcamp and installed some Borderlands 2, The Witcher 2, Far Cry 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter and then Downloaded Star Wars, The Old Republic. I was well impressed with the first four games. All run at full res on Ultra spec, far superior to any current console. Loving Far Cry 3 and The Witcher.
Sigh... Then there's Star Wars. Jesus what a bore fest. It took about four hours to download the thing and took up 20gig of my hard drive. I can't describe how dull it is. It's like a Sims game, everything is wooden and there are lots of other people doing the exact same missions that you are. Killing enemies is weird also. You click on someone you want to kill, then click on a button choose how you want to kill them. What happened to good old fashioned smashing someone's face in? I don't want to click on things or chat to people. ALL YOU DO IS CHAT AND CLICK!!! I want to kick some ass.
I hope that Disney sort out Lucas Arts and bring out a decent Star Wars game. (I know Old Republic is EA/Bioware). 1313 looked promising but that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. What is so difficult? All they need to do is cross The Witcher, The Force Unleashed and Rogue Squadron. An open world game with mission, some kick ass fighting combos and space battles. Hire me Disney. I'll write you a Star Wars game!
